     Frederick Wilhelm Falk was born on 7 September 1877 in Pulaski Township, Iowa County, Wisconsin.2,1,3 He was the son of Charles Ludwig Falk and Odelia Salvienia Rike.1
     On 19 June 1880 in Pulaski Township, Iowa County, Wisconsin, he appeared on the 1880 U.S. census in the household of his parents Charles and Odelia Salvienia Falk. He was listed as William F. Falk, age 2, born in Wisconsin and his parents in Prussia.4 As of 1900, Frederick Wilhelm Falk was also known as Fred W. Falk.5,6
     In Wesley Township, Kossuth County, Iowa, he appeared on the 1900 U.S. census taken on 1 June 1900 in the household of his parents Charles and Odelia Salvienia Falk. The listing showed him as Fred Falk, son, single, age 22, born Sep 1877 in Wisconsin, and both parents born in Germany. Fred's occupation was farm laborer.5
     He married Matilda Tweed in Silverton, Marion County, Oregon, on 3 November 1903.7
     Fred W. Falk registered for the WWI draft on 12 September 1918 in Linn County, Oregon. He stated he was a self-employed farmer, his nearest relative was Mrs. F.W. Falk and they lived on Rt 2, Halsey, Oregon. Fred was described as tall, medium build, with blue eyes and brown hair.8
     On 31 January 1920 Fred and Matilda appeared on the 1920 U.S. census taken in West Halsey Precinct, Linn County, Oregon. He was enumerated as Fred W. Falk, age 42, born in Wisconsin. She was listed as Tilla Falk, wife, age 41, born Iowa.. Their children Webster, Arlie, Andrew and Delma were listed as living with them.9
     In West Halsey Precinct, Linn County, Oregon, Fred and Matilda appeared on the 1930 U.S. census taken on 29 April 1930. He was listed as Fred Falk, farmer on general farm, age 52, first married at age 26, born in Wisconsin, his parents born in Germany. She was shown as Matilda Falk, wife, age 51, first married at age 25, born in Iowa, her parents born in Norway.. Their children Webster, Arlie, Andrew and Delma were listed as living with them.10
     Fred and Matilda appeared on the 1940 U.S. census taken on 27 April 1940 in Polk County, Oregon. He was listed as Fred W Falk, farmer, age 62, born in Wisconsin, completed 8 grades of school. She was shown as Matilda Falk, wife, age 61, born in Iowa and also completed 8 grades. Their owned farm was valued at $1000. They had lived in rural Linn County Oregon in 1935. Their son Webster was listed as living with them.11
     Frederick died on 20 December 1958 in Monmouth, Polk County, Oregon, at age 81.1,12,3
     An obituary for Fred W. Falk was published in the Capital Journal, Salem, Oregon on 22 December 1958. It read:
Fred W. Falk Rites Tuesday. MONMOUTH--Funeral services for Fred W. Falk, 81, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday from Smith-Krueger Mortuary, Independence. Burial will be at Fir Crest Cemetery, Monmouth. Falk died Saturday morning at his residence, Rt. 1, Box 145, Monmouth. He was born at Avoga [sic], Wis., Sept. 7, 1877, and in 1902 moved from Iowa to Halsey, where he lived until oving to Monmouth in 1935. A retired farmer, he married Tella Tweed in November, 1903, at Silverton. She died in 1941. Surviving are three sons, Webster A. Falk and Andrew J. Falk of Monmouth, and Arlie Falk of Salem; one daughter, Mrs. Dale Drinkard, Harrisburg; four brothers, Charles L. Falk and W. A. Falk and C. H. Falk, all of Halsey, and Adolph Falk of Monmouth; one sister, Mrs. Rosa Bierly of Brownsville; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.6
He was buried on 23 December 1958 in Fircrest Cemetery, Monmouth, Polk County, Oregon.13,14
